FIRST GM for the JAN 2008 Session!

Hello Hello and HELLLLLLLO!!

It has been a while since we last meet each other, ain't it? How are you people doing? Hopefully things went on well for you. Anyway, PSG is back with the first General Meeting!

The first General Meeting was held on 18th of January, 2008 in L.H. 1.2 and we, from PSG, were glad to meet the newbies! And we would like to take this opportu
nity to welcome you wholeheartedly!

The GM started of with ice-breaker; mainly to help us remember name
s better. How? If you are afraid of PAIN then you'd better call out names before you get whack on ur legs. ;)

See the newspaper stick? It was used to whack the players who forget names or respond slowly. XD

Try this 5 minutes video. :)

After ice the breakers, we now have Suzanne, the president of PSG, to give a brief introduction about PSG and what does PSG do. Instead of just giving out information, we actually prefer interactive discussion...

The new members were really engrossed in the discussion.

Next, we proudly present to you *tara*..., Mr. Gerard (or, informally known as Gerry)! Gerry came in and add on to what Suz has said about PSG. He had ask a very important question to the members of the floor... For those who have missed the session, maybe you can ponder on it now:

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE IN PSG?

"I would like to participate in the trainings," says Kok

and our dear Jeffrey has confidently said "Improve the qualities of my life and others!"

THAT'S THE KEY WORD! "My life and the life of others..."

PSG is not just about others, but about ourselves too.

Providing psychosocial support is always the mission of PSG and beginning from this semester, PSG mentors will not only be mentoring local students, we will be mentoring foreign students as well. Imagine, coming all the way from other countries to study here is quite a massive change in life especially when they are not familiar with the people, the culture and the place. Thus, we are always here to be their friends! At the same time, Jet and his team has also came up with a plan to support of one of our friend who is paralyzed neck down by transporting him to and fro to attend college. If he has got his willpower to overcome everything and so determine to attend college, why not us?
Gerry and the newbies, listening attentively.

Then, it's our activity time! We had a value game. Everyone had a number sticked behind their shirt and they didn't know what figure is that. All they have to do is find a partner and create the largest value without knowing what is on their own back.

In this activity, we would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone that, in life, you will be discriminated in certain ways. For example, in this game, if you are a 'zero', you practically are not needed, unlike those with big figure. However, the message that we are trying to send out is, in PSG, discrimination doesn't exist! And, we wouldn't befriend you just because you have bigger value than others or you are better in certain ways. We will be your friend and accept who you really are.

However, we are really happy to present to you the two 'zero's in our family: Hua Fu & Sek Hee. :D
We really hope you've enjoyed your day in PSG 1st GM this semester and gained some useful knowledge for yourself. If you need some support psychosocially, remember, we are the PEER SUPPORT GROUP.

Hope to see you again, real soon.

Lots of love.

E3 Camp

Message from Tammy,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for participating this camp and make it a success. I really, really really really, had a good time. How about you?

Still remember each moment? Lost on the way to La Salle, ice-breakers - egg, chicken, dinasours? first meeting with your group members, morning exercise, yoga, kickboxing, salsa? haha. Long-winded discussion? brain juice squeezing, nearly vomitting? War of the balloons? Get wet? Your room? The canteen? The hall? The toilet - water coming out in "one-line-form"? haha. The 2nd night, many things happened. and blah blah blah...

Oh yea, just to inform you that YeowYang is fine already!

Remember the energizer? "Hi, my name is Joe. And I work in a coconut factory. I have a wife, a house, and a family. One day, my boss came to me and said "Joe, are you free?" I say "yes". "So, scrape the coconut with your right hand". cHee chee cheeeee, chee chee cheee, che che cheee..." I seriously laughed till ..........er......laughed till......you know, right?

I enjoyed all the discussion and appreciate all the ideas you guys have come out with. I think PSG is going to another step for a better. I believe that we surely could make through it.

Remember, everyone is important and unique to PSG. We are the people (including you) who rock PSG and let people know how strong PSG is. We are not here to only give something, but also taking some from PSG. Friendship, cares, memorable moment, fun, skills, knowledge, experience, and etc.

Remember the video clip I showed you guys that night? Actually, that's the surprise. Hahaha. Maybe. Hope you guys would love it. Actually, I am trying to deliver the message that no matter how hard the life is, you still have to continue walking. However, at the same time, there are people always staying with you, and we are the PEOPLE -- PSG-ians! Miss the video clip? haha. Come and get it from me.

Objective of this camp is to learn how to plan, strategize, and lead an event or an organization. I hope you guys learned what you were supposed to. You may use the same skills on anywhere and everywhere, and even your own life. Think beyond it. If you, I would like to hear from you guys how you apply what u learned from the camp.

Vin will be working for the pictures taken in the camp. So, wait. Hahaha.

I will appreciate if you guys can give feed back to us. I will really appreciate it! One feedback one kiss from me. UH? Deal? cannot, I cannot sacrifice myself. Ok lar, One feedback, taking one picture with you. UH? Deal? hahaha! Seriously, give me some feedback. You may email to prettytammy@gmail.com Thanks!

Ohya, I must mention about this. You guys are awesome! I know some of you are struggling for assignments and presentation. But, you still commit yourself to come for camp. We survive! I also had discussion for today's presentation after coming back from the camp. I told myself that I could survive. Principle of Universe received my message. Yes, I have done it! So, I have already sent a message to universe that you guys surely can do it well for coming assignments, lab reports, and presentations.

Let's go through this together.

Last but not least, I want to make an announcement "E3 camp, SUCCESS!!".

Hope to see you guys soon in coming GM (16 November 2007). More details will be updated.

All the best! :)

Happy Halloween!!

Hey all!

How's Halloween? Fun? Get a treat or erhm... get tricked? Both was fun I would say!
So we hope that you guys had a good time receiving treats, being tricked or watching both. :D

For example, Nawal enjoys toilet rolls...

Here are some of the treats and trick products, I'm sure you've seen MORE. :D

At the same time, thanks so much to those who have supported this event!
And kudos to the team for such "cranky" ideas...

We will be back with more fun.

P/S: See you in camp later!

PSG 2nd General Meeting

Today PSG had its 2nd General Meeting for this semester at LH1.1, 12-2pm . The turn-out was great, thanks for coming! Here's a re-cap on what happened during the meeting.

The kick-start the meeting, we had an ice-breaking activity that involved lots of multi-coloured Nips chocolates (it was meant to be M&M's, but they were too expensive :P). Each person picked 3 Nips chocolate and based on the colour of the chocolate they have, they were supposed to tell one fact about themselves. Those who picked red had to tell something about their love life; yellow for something about themselves; orange was to describe themselves in 3 words; green to complete the sentence "if I had a million bucks..." and brown to complete the sentence "in the future I see myself..." Sitting in a circle, everybody had their turns. Sure enough we found out some interesting facts about those who came ;)

Now that the atmosphere has become warmer, it was time to get on with business. The "Lelong" game was designed to let the participants figure out what characteristics would be important for a "good" mentor. Six groups were formed and each group had their own poster of their "Almost Ideal" mentor. They were to decide which 3 trainings they would put their "mentor" through, and how to balance out the good and "not-so-good characteristics". Each group had 30 credits which they could use to buy other group's characteristics.

Suddenly a lecture hall turned into a pasar malam when the negotiations started. I daresay there were some very good hagglers and "kiasu" people...:P After the negotiation session ended, each group had their chance to present their "almost ideal" mentor poster and to justify their choices.

Pictures!

Hua Fu's expression is very...evil-looking?

After that, Mr. Kumar dropped by to give a short talk on being a mentor. Considering that many people were already very hungry by then, we let them have lunch while we set up the equipment to publicize the coming PSG Camp.

Let's stand in a line and show off our lunch~
Thanks to all who came and hope you've had fun and also learned something new ^_^ Hope to see you all again in the next general meeting, or even sooner, during the PSG Camp.
P/S: The PSG Camp will be held at La Salle PJ.
P/P/S: Your last chance to register for the camp is on this Monday (1/10/2007) and Tuesday (2/10/2007), 12-2 at Level 1 KPD E. So don't miss it!

P/P/S: Happy MidAutumn Festival ^_^

Cooking Indomee... Hua Fu actually used the packet of indomee as pillow :)

Food being transported to Main Block

Food...

The stall started at 8.00am officially. What was on the table? These:

  1. Set A: Homemade Indomee + Fried Egg + Sausage + 1 free drink

Due to some technical error, we are not able to show you how busy we were during the cafe. Furthermore, it will be pretty weird if someone catch you licking your screen. :D

So now, let us introduce to you, the cafe team, led by Sek Hee & Yau Yang!! (not everyone is in the photo though).

*applause*

People who had worked hard to make the cafe a blast!

Live performance.

Although we had over estimated the amount of food for sale, we did not waste them! We feasted after the cafe! And, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had supported us! Domo arigatougozaimasu (thank you very much)!

Behind the scene...

This has clearly shown how much effort our dear PSG members had put into the cafe

So, don't miss our next coming cafe! Check us out for more surprises...
